She was seventeen so I assumed she would understand, she was the first I called into my study as soon as I returned from the hospital.

She was holding a cheerful smile which made me contemplate whether to tell her the truth or not. But it would be disastrous if she heard it from someone else.

“Mum, you have been gone for two days now. Did you go to meet daddy?” she raised a brow as she sat beside me.

I squeezed out a smile and caressed her cheek softly.

“My sweetheart. I left yesterday and not two days ago, did you miss me that much?” I said in sarcasm while raising my brow and she chuckled.

“You know I miss you super much. But I miss dad more, when will he return with Drake?” she questioned anxiously, while staring at me and I thought it was the right time to tell her the truth.

The worse was pain but aside that, it would relieve my guilty conscience.
