Chapter 16.1: Reunion

"Mommy . . ."

Ramina chuckled while watching her daughter struggle to wear her shoe. They will go to a family reunion. Ramina and her family's reunion after so many years. This will be the first time that Prescelle could get to see her relatives.

Ramina went down to her knees and helped her daughter with her pink shoes. "Are you excited, baby?" she asks.

Prescelle pouted. "I'm excited and . . . nervous, mommy. What if they won't like me?" Her tone suddenly changed.

Ramina secretly gasped. "Baby . . ." She looked at Prescelle's eyes. "They won't, okay? They're your family. And family won't hate each other. They should love each other. Do you understand, mommy?" Ramina softly said while caressing Prescelle's face.

Prescelle innocently looked at her. "Then why is it that my classmate does not love her father? She said that she hates him so much because he left them. Should I feel the same way to my father, mommy?"
