128| Betrayal of the Board and Association

At the end of the hall, I saw the school health worker coming out of the health room.

"Isn't the school building too quiet?" She closed the door while stretching her stiff shoulder muscles. "It's already afternoon. How long have I been asleep?" She checked the watch on her wrist.

I was about to approach her to warn her, but she seemed in a hurry and walked away from me.

"Good grief! The principal can punish me if I'm late for a meeting."

She ran through the completely empty school hallway. Suddenly, I saw a suspicious man breaking in through the school fence near the lake. I could see him through the window in the hallway.

"Who's he?" shouted the school health worker, who seemed to have also seen the man.

I saw that the health worker had run and headed towards the fence to approach the man. She even carried a half-meter stick that she usually used to discipline students who played truant in the health room.

"Hello, young lady!" said the man who had barged in through the fence.
