71| Returning Memories

The furthest memory stored in my head happened after that snowy night. I was alone with Brigitta. Every afternoon, she would light the fireplace. During that time, I still liked standing in front of the window of Brigitta's house, looking at the falling snow.

"You haven't spoken to me since you got here, Casey. Don't you like me?"

That's when I turned to Brigitta and stared at her for a long time. She got up from in front of the fireplace and approached me. She tried to see what I was looking at outside the window. Because since arriving there, I just kept staring out the window.

"Calm down, kid. "As long as you are here, you don't need to be afraid of anything," said Brigitta.
