“I was shocked! There seems to be an untold story lurking beneath the surface.” I shifted my gaze toward Claire. “Oh, we’re quite familiar with her! And I must say, she is certainly not that type of person. Perhaps an unexpected event, something, or someone influenced her decision.”

“Well, I suppose you have a point. And you know what’s even more bizarre? Pat’s behavior. It’s quite peculiar.”
