Chapter 41: The Chasing

Russell’s POV

Daniel and I didn’t talk during the flight. We are together, but the two of us are quiet. He doesn’t ask questions or tell stories like before, but still cares for me. He opened the car door for me earlier. And since we didn’t have breakfast before leaving the house, we went through the drive-thru, and he talked to me about what I wanted.

While driving, he was eating a burger. I secretly glanced at him while I only wanted coffee, reasoning that I could eat at home. Mom will prepare me the food I want.

However, annoyance and nervousness mingled with my emotions at the moment. He was annoyed because he was cold towards me and nervous that I would be married at home. There was ketchup left on the side of his lips after he ate the burger. Just in time, he also turned into the garage of my parent’s house.
