Chapter 74: The Graduation

Daniel's POV

"How're you?"

I went over to Javier's house to see her. She was discharged from the hospital. Today is Russell and Claire's graduation, and I must go with Ryker to buy a gift for both. We went by Javier's house first because the subdivision where she lives is on the way.

"It's okay, sir. It looks like I still have hope," she giggled.

"It looks like you're doing fine," Ryker said. "I thought you had lost your memory." Ryker even glanced at me.

"Yeah, you're right," Javier said.

I just stared at her. Now, she's not as attached to me as she was before, and it seems like she's returned to my partner, Javier.

"Has your memory returned?"

Javier shook her head. No. "Not yet, but the doctor says it will take a while."

"But you seem..."

"Sometimes keeping a journal helps, too."

"Journal?"

Ryker chuckled. "Are you still writing in a journal? "Well, that's just high school, isn't it?"

"Yes, but luckily this journal helped me. At least some of my memory seems to have come back."
