Chapter 90: The Second Ambush

Daniel's POV

"Wait, babe!"

I was running fast to follow Russell, but no matter how quickly I ran, I couldn't catch up with her. She was running scared while looking back at me several times. The fear in her eyes suddenly made me nervous.

"Is she running away from me?" I turned around, but no one was chasing me.

A few moments later, Ryan came out of the darkness with a gun and pointed it at Russell, who was running away. And in that quiet place, there was a loud gunshot sound, and it was like slow motion as I watched the bullet hit Russell's back until she stopped running and gradually fell to the ground.

"Russell!"

I woke up immediately. I turned around and took a deep breath. It's just a dream. Using my fingers, I combed my hair.

"Was that a bad dream?"

I turned behind me when I heard the voice of my in-laws. They were sitting next to me and Russell, who was also sitting on the bed staring at me. I immediately left my seat and hurried to bed.
