I stepped out of the office with mixed feelings. I felt grateful for the fact that my professor had been so considerate, but I was also confused and worried because I still didn't know his plans with me. I knew I'd pay the debts; I had already applied for a job somewhere else. If I got two jobs, I'd be able to manage it.
