15. A coward opportunist.

Clad in comfortable nightwear, Scarlett strolled out of the closet. The image of Nicholas emerging from the same closet was still etched in her mind, causing a headache. The last thing she wanted was to be swayed by him, but it seemed to be happening faster than she anticipated. Sighing, Scar got on the bed and laid down.

‘Better fall asleep before he comes.’ Scarlett kept chanting the same line in her mind, and Ulva rolled her eyes. ‘Stop acting so pitiful!’ Ulva growled, and only then did Scarlett calm down.

Lost in thoughts about the recent events, Scarlett’s eyelids grew heavy, and she drifted into a deep sleep. When Nicholas emerged from the bathroom, Scarlett was already in a deep slumber. He laid down beside her, the moonlight casting a gentle glow on her face, accentuating her beauty and innocence. He couldn’t tear his eyes away.

‘I wonder how beautiful her wolf will be,’ Damon purred. ‘If only I could reach her.’

‘What is this girl, Damon? Why can’t I read her mind?’
