Today marks it a week since I last saw Lucian after he had angrily stormed out of the room when he found Nathan was his son.

I have asked Drake and Kayla countless times about his whereabouts, but their response remains the same.

"I have no idea where the don has gone, Ava!" Kayla says, helping me comb my hair, as she watch me through the mirror.

Despite their consistent denial, I can't shake the feeling that they're hiding something from me.

"Do you think he's avoiding me because of what happened?" I ask, studying Kayla's reaction in the mirror.

She hesitates before responding, choosing her words carefully.

"I can't say for certain. Only you truly know Lucian well enough to predict his actions," Kayla replies.

I sigh, realising that the Lucian I once knew, the man I thought I understood, is no longer the same. Seven years have changed him, and now I find myself unable to anticipate his next move.
