The Next Day! (Saturday)
Alexander Clay slowly opened his eyes. His eyes met with the alarm clock on the nightstand and he saw that it was already 5 pm. He let out some air at the thought of sleeping for hours which was unlike him. There was no doubt that his Doctor had tampered with his medications. He was sure as hell that Henry had included some ridiculous sleeping pills into his dosage.
Making a mental note to call Henry later and scold him, Alexander got down from his bed. He reached for his shirt that was by the edge of the bed and wore it over his joggers.
Alex grumbled as he rose to his feet. He was thirsty and wanted to have something stron
Alexander Clay stopped in his tracks the moment he sighted Kaylee. He was shocked; more as if he was caught doing something illegal. His palms started becoming sweaty and he honestly didn't know how to act before his daughter. He was afraid any sound he made, or anything he said was going to ruin the peace of the moment.Even though Alex had prepared his mind that he was going to approach Kaylee, the thought of walking up to her at this very moment scared the hell out of him. He had never been close to her enough to know things about her but he had heard from people that she was a very smart child. Alex had no idea why but looking at Kaylee, he felt like the five-year-old would never be able to forgive him.Alexander knew Kayl
"Kaylee love, Sorry I took so....." Beatrice was saying as she entered the kitchen with Emily in her arms. She was shocked by the scenario before her which was why she couldn't complete her sentence. "Long" she whispered after a while, trying to process the fact that she just saw Alexander Clay kiss his daughter on her forehead."Kaylee?" She whispered, looking at the little girl. Then she took a glance at Alexander Clay, "Sir? Is this what I'm thinking?" She said with a small smile playing on her lips. She had gone to clean up for Emily which was why Kaylee was left alone for a while. Usually, they would do everything together but Kaylee was too hungry to go along with Beatrice to clean up for her little sister.Alexander shrugged. "It d
Just as Alexander Clay had requested, Denise helped herself out of his room after she had calmed down a bit from crying. She wanted to say goodbye to her grandchildren but she decided not to because she was not in a good state. It was for sure that Kaylee was going to ask her what the matter was and she couldn't bring herself to lie to the little girl. Her conversation with Alexander was totally unexpected. It hit her really hard and she badly needed some alone time to cry over it and probably have a long talk with her husband.Coming out of Alexander's room and quietly shutting the door behind her, Denise made her way out of her son's h
Arianna sighed and ran a hand over her artificial blonde hair. "I just couldn't bring myself to do it over the phone. Again, he seemed over the moon about making up with his kids. I couldn't bring myself to short live his happiness.""So how did you end the conversation with him?" Ellie asked calmly."I told him that what I wanted to talk about wasn't really important and that I'll discuss it with him on Monday. Kaylee has a recital which he would be attending so I will meet up with them.""Everything is such a mess!" Ari said as she massaged her temple. "I can't believe I put myself into this shit-hole. I was so blinded by revenge that
For two good minutes, Alexander Clay was still where Natalie left him. He didn't move an inch from where he stood as he processed all that She said. He didn't want to believe Natalie but some of what she said got him thinking and the possibility of her being right about Arianna was starting to make his heart ache.Alex ran his left fingers through his hair and with one last glare at the direction that Natalie disappeared to, he proceeded to his room.Slamming the door behind him, Alexander started pacing up and down his room. "It's true that when she started working for me, there were times that she would look at me with nothing but hate," Alex murmured, then he shook his head. "Ari loves me. Even though she pretends that she
Arianna's heartbeat quickened at his question. It was then that it dawned on her that Natalie must have exposed her to Alex."I don't have all day, Open your fucking mouth and answer me. You're Arianna Greece. Yes or No?" Alexander raised his voice at her. Tears unconsciously sprang up in Ari's eyes. She had never seen him this mad. Not even on her first day of work when she spilled coffee on him. She was probably getting emotional because of the way everything turned out to be. There was nothing more heartbreaking than Alex discovering the truth from the person who he hates most in the world. Natalie!Ari swallowed painfully. "I....I can explain!"
Arianna burst into uncontrollable tears the moment she heard Alexander slam the door after helping himself out of her apartment. She plopped down on the sofa beside her and sobbed. A few minutes later, She felt her best friend's presence beside her. Ellie pulled her into a hug and she cried her eyes out in Ellie's chest."It's okay, baby. Everything will be alright; I promise!" Ellie whispered as she patted her best friend's hair.Arianna finally calmed down after a couple of minutes. Ellie got her some tissue to wipe her face and a glass of water which Arianna refused to take so Ellie left it on a nearby table.
Two weeks later!"Sir, are you sure you can handle them on your own?" Beatrice said out of concern as Alexander buckled Emily up in her car seat."Of course, Beatrice. I have to start doing this on my own and you should be glad for me that I'm taking a bold step." Alex caressed Milly's cheek, then placed a kiss on her forehead before gently shutting the door of the back passenger's seat."I'm glad for you Sir, I just want to make sure you're okay handling both of them on your own." She said, referring to his girls who were all dressed for school in the car.Alexander smiled. "You have no idea how much I look forward to spending time with them and most importantly, taking them to school. You've always tag
