Chapter Seventeen V
Celestine hugged herself for warmth as the chillness of the wind etched into her skin down to her bones, making her shiver.
She wandered her eyes and saw everything in the shade of yellow and green—sunlight slanted on the trees, lively color of the green grass, and yellow flowers surrounded her feet from where she's standing. Celestine inhaled and closed her eyes. Her hair is swaying in every gust of the wind.
"Open your eyes, darling." Celestine opened her eyes automatically upon hearing that voice.
"Daddy..." she said a little louder. He didn't respond. He just stared at her, his lips in a thin line, eyes on her, hands on his back.
"Where are you now?" she asked, almost like a whisper, still astonished by the fact that she's standing in front of her father.
"Come," he spread his arms. "Hug your daddy."
Celestine shook her head. "N-No... Just stay there."

Celestine walks with eyes fixed on her toes, her pulse thudding noisily as she swallowed. At this hour, the sunlight started to hurt her skin yet she didn't bother shielding herself from it. As she take every step, from her peripheral vision she saw how the people they walked past reacted as they saw her. She can feel the eyes on her. They stare at her way too much that it made her uncomfortable. It was surprisingly uncomfortable for her. In many years of being a model, she learned to be comfortable with the attention she's getting. But everything has changed. Saoirse put her sunglasses down as she leaned her back against the backrest of her swivel chair. She cracked her neck and opened her laptop.
