Chapter Thirty-Nine IX

"Dad," Lander hoarsely greeted as soon as he answered the call. His head is aching and could barely open his eyes but despite that, he choose to answer the call.

No matter how sleepy or how important is the meeting that he is in, he never not answer calls coming from his parents. He just thought that every hours he spent away from them is also hours of many possibilities that may happen to them.

His parents are old now, he has to accept the fact that in between of those times that he is not with them can result into something that will wreck him forever. And so he think that every call, every text he receive from them is important no matter how nonsense they are texting or calling him for.

"Sorry, did I disturb your sleep?" It was the voice of his beautiful mother.

"Yeah, kinda. But it's fine. Why did you call using Dad's phone?" he asked while staring blankly at the wrinkled duvet that is covering half of his body.
