"Ali, I'm so glad you're okay. I heard that there were rogues and I thought you were dead or something ridiculous!" Lucas' voice exclaimed as arms wrapped around me. I winced in pain as the male crushed my open wounds. He quickly pulled away, sensing my discomfort and I smiled weakly at him. Lucas looked down at me, studying me for injuries. Behind him, I saw Leon and Quo jogging towards us.Quo's father was the head tracker of the pack, and Quo was following quickly in his father's footsteps even though he was still a trainer for the warriors. I saw his nostrils flare as he began to sniff at the air."Follow the scent before it fades in the wind! Go! Go!" Henry shouted, waving his hand. Several wolves, including Quo rushed off, tracking the scent of the rogues. My mind was wild with thoughts as I watched everyone run around like headless chickens. No one was calm. Rogues had somehow made it into the territory without anyone noticing. It was almost impossible for it to happen. With th
I stepped foot outside and then breathed in the overly chilly air. It was snowing. It was finally snowing. The snow wasn't heavy. It was light and looked like it would be soft to touch. The air was noticeably more cold than it had been any other morning. The whiteness covered the ground and everything else around me. The steps to the cabin were covered in snow and I shook my head as I grinned. I loved the snow."Ah, finally. Now we have an excuse to sleep in. The snow finally came," I heard from behind me. I turned around and grinned at Ezra who walked out behind me. He returned the gesture and gave me a gentle hug.He looked much better compared to the night before. Jenny must have taken him hunting and got him to feed off a deer or something. The blood would have helped him heal."Glad you're up nice and early," I told him with a grin. Ezra shrugged at me as we both looked out to the snow. Already, some of the children were running out in the snow wearing at least five layers of war
I woke early the next morning. I got up and showered, eager to get ready for the long trip. I then changed into warm clothes. I pulled on black skinny jeans, a singlet, a long sleeved shirt, a turtleneck and then a thick warm jacket over the top. I dried my hair and then pulled a beanie over the top.I didn't care if I looked absolutely ridiculous. I knew I would get cold and I wasn't taking any chances.I lifted my bags and carried them out to the front door. I rested them beside it and then turned back to the kitchen. Ezra was waiting for me, as was Jenny."I guess we'll be seeing you after Christmas then," Ezra told me with a small smile. I nodded at him and yawned as I hugged him tightly. He kissed my hair and pulled away.Jenny hugged me next. She was warm and comforting to hug. I didn't want to let go. But I did when there was a knock on the door.I knew it was Liam. The pull was bouncing off the walls. I was excited to see him. We'd been up late last night, just talking about n
Nicolas, who I assumed was Liam's uncle, shook Liam's hand and laughed as his mate scolded him and moved past him to get to me. Nicolas began to ask Liam about all of his training, and I lost interest in all the testosterone in the conversation. The woman came over to me and grinned at me. She came forwards and hugged me, rubbing our cheeks together as she did so. She smelt like sunflowers and daisies. I liked this female already. "I'm Blu. I'm so happy to finally meet you, Alison. Lila has been giving you five star ratings whenever she speaks of you," Blu told me. I giggled at her as I glanced sideways where Lila was. She was the best sister. "It's nice to meet you, Blu," I told her with a nod. She grinned at me and glanced sideways at her mate. Nicolas was already organising a time and date for him and Liam to have a go at each other. "Men. I swear to God," Blu shook her head as she grabbed Nicolas' arm. She tugged him sideways and motioned to me. "Ah! The girl my boy is apparen
After breakfast, I had made good friends with Kendall and Piper. They were bright girls and very outgoing. Kendall was Hannah's daughter, and it made sense once I figured it out. They looked incredibly similar.By now, it was tense between Liam and I. I avoided him and eye contact as much as possible because I couldn't face him. I think he knew he had messed up, because he kept trying to push his way into my head. But I didn't let him in.I knew that if we were going to talk, it would have to wait for later. I didn't want to talk about it while we were with other people. Our arguments always ended up with me crying and I didn't feel like bursting into tears in front of his whole family."You see this one? She's the best out of all of them because she has the longest hair," Trixie told me. She leaned over and held the doll out to me. I took it from her and looked over the doll.I smiled and nodded my head at her. "She must be the best if she's got the longest hair."I gave the doll bac
I walked down the hallway using the towel to dry my hair. It dripped wet on the floor and I desperately tried to avoid it happening. I walked into Lila's room and sat on the end of her bed. She looked up at me from where she was standing, unpacking her bags."Are you staying in here with me tonight?" Lila asked me. I shrugged at her. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do."Not sure. I'm torn," I said. Lila nodded at me and sighed. She put down the clothes in her hands and came over to me. She sat beside me."I think you should go with him. Talk it out. He's beating himself up about the entire thing," Lila told me. I sighed and nodded. I knew she was right.I couldn't avoid Liam for the whole trip. I needed to talk to him and sort all of this out. I didn't need us to get into another bad argument."You're right," I sighed out. Lila giggled and nodded at me."I always am," she said between giggles. I rolled my eyes at her and punched her arm. She got up again and began to unpack her bags an
"Liam!" I gasped as I sat up fast. I held a hand to my chest as my heart beat fast and hard. I struggled to catch my breath. I panted hard and couldn't control the shakiness of my body.I covered my face in my hands, trying to stop myself from crying. But the tears came anyway. I cried and worked myself up until I felt Liam's arms wrap around me."Hey... it's okay. I'm here," Liam mumbled into my ear as he pulled me close. He engulfed me in his warm and comforting arms. I shook in his embrace.Liam held me until I stopped crying. He was first to pull away. He looked down at me and pulled my hair out my face and tucked it behind my ears.I started to cry again as I looked up at him. I had dreamt about him. I had dreamt that he was being killed by rogues. It was one of the worst dreamsI had had so far."They tore your throat out!" I sobbed to him. Liam forced a sad smile and leaned forwards. He kissed my forehead and wiped the tears from under my eyes. I felt the pain that his beast wa
After an hour of driving and listening to the God awful Christmas songs that were playing, we arrived at the mall. Lila and I jumped out the car and breathed in the fresh air. They were so many new and different smells.I could smell the humans, people walking past and the mall. I could smell the different plants that were covered by a thin layer of snow. I could smell delicious foods from the stalls and restaurants surrounding the place. It was amazing."I don't need to remind you how to act like a human, right?" Darcy said as she got out the car. Lila came around the side of the car and we both shook our heads at her.We all headed towards the entrance to the mall and I found myself walking alongside Kendall and Piper. They both shot me wide grins.Cass was supposed to be coming, but she pulled out last minute as she apparently had issues with humans. I assumed they'd been trouble makers back in her old pack or previously in her life."You know, they've got a Victoria Secret in here
