Chapter Fourteen

ALPHA KING Xavier

Ariel came home from her diner looking exhausted but she still insisted on cooking for me. I tried to convince her to forget about it but her stubborn self wouldn't listen so I allowed her. I sat in the living room, occasionally looking in the direction of the kitchen to check if I would steal a glance at her.

Twenty minutes later, she came out carrying a tray which contained the food. She placed it before me on a stool and sat next to me. She looked excited, maybe because this would be the first time I'm tasting her food.

I stared at the food, it didn't look familiar at all. She did mention that it was a local dish. I'm not used to these, being an Alpha King and all that.

"What's wrong? You don't like it?" She asked, narrowing her eyes.

"Um.. I don't know what this is." I answered honestly. She stared at me like I just uttered an abomination.

"What planet are you from? She teased.

"Just take one bite, I promise you'll like it." She urged.
