Chapter 21: Kiss Me

Alpha Enzo's POV

"That was seven years ago."

I said each word with the same pain I felt that night.

"That night was a mixture of joy and pain. The joy I had when I was announced as the future king disappeared when I saw my mother, battling for her life."

She rubbed her hand on mine softly. I couldn't help but wonder:

If the pains were like a stain on my hand, I guess she could have cleaned it away as she rubbed.

She moved closer and held my hand. It was a simple gesture, but it had such a major effect.
