Chapter 60: Edward

Both men looked over at Gray, and Judah's grandfather immediately stopped hopping up and down, looking over at her. She must have looked ridiculous that way as she was leaning on the doorframe, eyes probably puffy from crying. She knew her father would eventually die due to his longtime illness, but she wasn't ready for how he died. He was murdered along with her stepmom. Her father used to tell her not to grieve when he died, but Gray couldn't help it.

She temporarily smiled and waved her hand in the air, and sighed. It felt so good to laugh.

"Sorry, I just-"

"Is this her?" Gray stopped laughing long enough to realize that Judah's grandfather was walking over her, grunting and sometimes stopping to rub his aching knees. She sobered up almost immediately.

Judah nodded.

"Yes, Grandpa."

He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest, looking at her like he wanted to put her to bed right there.

Which he did.
