The heavy rain had now stopped and only a drizzling sound was heard softly patting the roof.

Emily wondered why Mr. Brown had stood by the door, waiting for some seconds before finally walking out. Was he waiting for her to say what was bothering her? Did he know that she was lying?

"Oh, heavens," Emily mumbled as she pressed her fingers against her temples and began to rub it. Her bad headache was coming again. She had to find herbs to drink but not before she had her bath.

She walked up the stairs slowly as her eyes began to turn. The headache was now becoming unbearable.

Right from when she was little, Emily had this headache that her father called a peeping headache. It always came whenever she thought too much or tried so hard to concentrate on something but before the next minute it was gone. It always seemed to be like magic.
