Edward entered his carriage and closed the door shut. He knocked on the roof of the carriage and the servant driving him immediately whipped the horse, causing it to begin its trot forward. He had already begun his journey to Whissletown where the party was going to take place.

The main truth of the whole thing was that Edward wasn't just going there to party. He was going on a mission, a mission to find out the truth.

He had received news from one of his spies that the Viscount Erin of Bardon, one of his father's friends, had partnered with his longtime arch-rival, the Duke Frederick of Bedsart, and the both were already planning on going on a coup against him.

What confused Edward the most about the whole thing was that the both already had great empires to their names. He didn't know why they were going on a coup against him. He knew for sure that they weren't doing it to add his Duchy to theirs.
