Chapter 111: The Truth About Last Night

As the afternoon sun casts long shadows through the window, a car engine rumbles to life, followed by the sound of tires crunching on gravel.

Nicholas, his face etched with worry, asked gently, "Are you feeling any better?"

Forcing a smile, I replied, "Yes, thank you."
