Carter opened his mouth to say something, but his voice choked in his throat. His pupils narrowed dramatically, as if he had seen a ghost.

"Easy," Sofia grinned, "as long as you give me a satisfying answer, we'll both have a pleasant evening."

Carter put away his out-of-control expression and replaced it with his usual aloofness and seriousness. But his slightly trembling fingers betrayed him.

Sofia reaches out and touches the hand that Carter has gripped the door with, Carter quickly pulls his hand back as if he's been electrocuted.

Sofia giggledand said, "Alpha Carter, shouldn't you invite me in for a break? You know, the Witch Dungeon to your house is a long enough distance for me."
