Nicolette's POVMalcom insisted that he would wrap my leg up with bandages and I had no say in the matter. He wouldn't even let me take a shower before he grabbed the medical kit.I lifted my leg onto his knee and he started to wrap the bandages around my leg. My blood started to soak through the first layer of bandages as he started to wrap a second time. I places my hand on his arm to stop him."You do know I need to take these bandages off to shower. Then you can wrap my leg up if it's still bleeding," I told him. He sighed as he cuts off the bandage and nods."Also where are the guards I ordered to be here?" He questions me as I walk into the closet. I grab a towel and the glass ball almost falls onto the ground. I quickly catch it and put it in further in the closet."I sent them back because I don't need them," I shout from the closet. I grab some clothes and make sure the glass ball is out of sight from a Malcom."Nicolette I put them there for a reason," he groaned. I roll my e
Nicolette's POV Malcom, the person who brought me so much much pain, is supposed to be my will to live. At first it was my parents but now they're gone. Then Malcom appeared. I imagine loving him would be like falling in love with darkness. I couldn't imagine anything more but his dark side is just an illusion, his protection. I didn't try to move from Malcom's hold on me. I didn't want to move. I was so comfortable and I felt safe here, in his arms. I watched the sunrise and peak through the cracks between the curtains. I would give up everything just to see my family again. To see my mom's warm smile and my dad's soft eyes. Just one more time so that I could hug them but they're dead and in one week it'll be my birthday, and they're death anniversary and I can't leave to visit their graves. I sniffled and wiped my tears off my face before it could soak into Malcom's chest. I've cried so many times this month I'm surprised I even have tears left to cry. Malcom and I had not moved from
Nicolette's POVOne week. One week till the unimaginable would happen. The knowledge of my birthday died with my parents. Beck only knows my birthday because he saw my calendar in my room. Also, it wasn't Beck's handwriting. It was a female's handwriting. Maybe I could track the package back to its sender using a spell but a smart witch would know how to hide it.I kept running until I got to the edge of the pack boarder. My wolf sniffed the boarder line but got to close. She let out a whimper as the boundary sent a shock through her body and sent her flying back a few feet. She let out a grumble and pawed at the ground trying to make it softer. She sat down and laid her head onto the ground. She liked it. Liked having her mate around more often than usual. She wanted him. I don't know how much I want him though. He knowingly brought me pain and treated me like garbage. My wolf let out a whine as she feels a hand run down her fur. His scent wasn't one we should be afraid of."You like
Nicolette's POVI hold my hand against the wall as I push myself up, with my head still spinning. Lucas put out his hands just incase I tumbled over. These people, I could help all of them of I just gathered enough strength."I can help all of them," I rasp. I saw the man move his wrist without and emotion of pain or discomfort. I lifted my hand off of the wall and almost fall back to the ground."That looked harsh Nicole, I think you should go back and rest. Malcom, Seth, and I will take care of the 30th just please don't exhaust yourself. You can come back another day when you're ready," he tried to convince as I regain the little balance I had."Thank you," he breathed. The man that was healed was smiling from ear to ear. The smile that made me want to keep doing it for every wolf in here. Make my life useful before the unimaginable happens."She'll come back for the rest of you all, for now let her rest," Malcom announced. He throws my arm over his shoulder and clung in to my back
Nicolette's POVI look up and see Malcom staring at us."It's a friendly hug, he told me about his mate," I tell him. He nods and walks away. I back away from him and wipe the tears off of his face."You'll find someone," I smile lightly. "It just won't be me." He nods wipes the rest of his tears off of his face."I probably look so unmanly," he chuckles standing up. He puts his hand out and I grab it and pull myself up onto my feet."You don't want me Lucas. I've made such a mess of my life that I can't even look to find where I should start to clean it up. I'm so broken the no broom would be enough to sweep it all up," I lightly smile."You're in luck because I know who can fix you," he said. I roll my eyes because I literally just told him that I can't be the person he picks."I told you n-.""Malcom," he cuts me off. I looked at him with confusion. "He's broken too. They say that something needs to become more broken before it can be fixed. Nicole, he's the broken that's gonna make
Nicolette's POV"Stop," Malcom yelled as he watched Zaine lift his hand at Denali. She flinched and pushed back into the wall as far as she could to protect her body from being injured by her mate.Malcom moved quickly across the room and grabbed his father's arm and pulled it away from Denali. Zaine let our a growl and hit Malcom to the ground. Then his other hand struck Denali across the face.I jolted awake to a loud thunderstorm sending bullets of rain but the window. A sharp pain went through my neck. The memories from the morning flood back in.A crack of lightning split the sky and lit up the night, followed by a thunderous boom that made my wolf whine. My wolf hated storms which was the exact opposite of me, considering I love storms. I can't think when it's too quiet, it makes me to nervous, so the loud storms help me think.I heard a voice from outside of my room door as I run my hand over the mark gently. Malcom was outside, I could sense it. His smell was more enticing than
Nicolette's POVI woke up two hours later and slipped out before Malcom could stop me. It was 6 now and I thought the royal guards were in physical therapy now. I put a wall between our link and made my way to the building. This would take a lot of energy from me but I needed the royal guards to help on the 30th. I had lost a lot of precious time and needed to start planning now. Whoever planned this know that my last day is the 30th and that is the last chance they have before I may disappear from the world, I haven't decided if I would stay or leave yet.If I were to be logical, I should stay. I have my mate's mark on my neck and if I leave, my wolf would become depressed eventually. If I stay, I would be seen as an unfit ruler. I'm more witch than werewolf and also being a vampire may cause conflict. So, I haven't decided yet.I walked in silently and saw all of the royal guards doing the exact same thing they were doing the other day, like clockwork. I spotted the wolf I healed the
Third Person POVNicolette was still shivering violently in Malcom's arms, more than usual. Malcom was terrified for his mate. He didn't know how much more she could take of the black magic in her.She wouldn't stop mumbling about the visions that the black magic showed her. She mumbled words that were out I to her head and the surroundings around her.Malcom listened to her quiet mumbling, trying to pick out bits and pieces of the clouded words she said. He had never felt so helpless. It felt like he was watching his mother get beat. He beat himself up knowing he should have there, aware that she had left.Nicolette was slipping in and out of consciousness but she didn't know it. She only saw the flashes in front of her. She couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't. She knew she had to call out for help in some way but her body was not hers. Her wolf and demon couldn't control the black magic taking over their witch's body. No power of hers could push out the evil invading her brai
