The door to Xavier’s chambers cracked open and a little light shone through, illuminating the darkness. Xavier’s angry eyes snapped open, and he ran off the bed to see who was intruding on him this time, and his eyes caught Mia. The anger he felt died as he saw the angelic creature he called his wife at his door. His hands ran over his face to wipe at it. An attempt to make himself look presentable to her. He hadn’t seen her in days and he had counted down till this moment and now he didn’t want her disappointed at what she saw.
He had done a sloppy job of cleaning himself up. His robe clung to his body, shrunk terribly, and this was his worst look ever. He was still a mess, but she was here to see him, and that was all that mattered.
The excitement he felt, however, was short-lived when he saw Edward step up beside her. Why were these two always together? Was he the reason she reacted so coldly to his profession? Was he the man she loved? Was that it?

This chapter shed light on Xavier's perspective. I think this confrontation was meant to happen. He saw what she didn't see and he stepped in to save her and she thought the worst of him because of him. Xavier isn't proud of everything he's done and wants to be good for Mia because that's she deserves at least. These two are each other's strengths they are their weaknesses. I'd like to hear from you. Once again, thanks for reading.
Xavier pull his hand away from Mia’s temple and she gasped and stumbled back from him. She stared at Xavier, her heart pounding loudly in her chest. She immediately felt remorseful having realised the truth, which she didn’t see. She had thought the worse of him these past few days when what he did was protect her from danger. He didn’t kill those men in cold blood as she had initially thought. He killed them because they were on a mission. A mission to kill her and she had thought they were commoners travelling who lost their ways, but she was wrong. She had also called Xavier a monster and a cold-hearted beast, and she was wrong as well. She was grateful Xavier saved her life and remorseful for thinking the very worse of him in return. He was hurt. She didn’t give him the benefit of a doubt, even after everything, and that hurt him. Her eyes were guilty as they stared at him. “Why didn’t you just tell me that day?” “I saw the way you looked at me and I realised you might never se
Xavier and Mia, along with Edward, made their way towards the courtroom where Edward had told them Robb and the councils of elders were. If Xavier said he wasn’t afraid, he would be lying. If he had the chance to go back to three days ago, he probably would have done the same thing: protect his wife and queen and kill those assassins. He didn’t want to think of those waiting for him, and he didn’t want to think of the things ahead. The door opened and Xavier and Mia stepped into the courtroom where Robb sat in the upper seat and the eight elders beside him. Standing beside Robb was Elliott, and the sight of him made Xavier furious. “Should he be here?” he rose a concerned brow. “I asked him to stay,” Robb replied, and a smirk appeared on Elliott’s face. “It’s good to finally see you after three days of visiting!” “I’m sorry, your grace, the past three days haven’t been the best.” “Guilt or something else?” Robb asked. “I have no reason to feel guilty, your grace!” he answered.
Xavier sat at the table of his study, handing three royal scrolls to Valerio. He wanted him to personally deliver them to the supervisors of the Capital 3 project. The door opened and Edward, who had gone ahead to the temple earlier, stepped in and he approached him. Xavier nodded at Valerio and he took his leave and as the door closed, Xavier’s attention turned to Edward. He had gone ahead with four elders to confirm the information Xavier had given about the men he killed. Edward was to report whatever their findings were. “Any news?” “The bodies of those men which were supposed to be at the temple are missing,” Edward said, locking his hands behind his back. The council of Alphas, Robb Ainsworth, the queen, prince Edward and lord Elliot were the only ones that heard his remark about those he killed and he wanted to narrow down to who amongst them could have done this. His guts told him his enemy sat with them at the courtroom. He couldn’t ignore that feeling. He scoffed and ti
Xavier’s lashes fluttered and a long moan left his mouth as he twirled around in bed. He soon came to the actuality that Mia wasn’t there with him. They had gone to bed wrapped in sheets and each other’s arms after a session of lovemaking. He was exhausted and thought she would be as well. Well, she wasn’t. He loved her with every fibre of his being. He loved her with everything he possessed. She loved him, too. His heart leapt for joy at that affirmation. Her confession last night had affected him beyond comparison. It also made everything perfect. She loved him. Mia Ainsworth, luna and queen of Wahala loved him and she had loved him for a long time. He must have been blind to not see. Perhaps he saw and didn’t really consider it. He had no idea what he did to deserve her affection. She could do so much better, but she trusted him with her heart and he would do his very best to cherish it. He would put her first. Her needs, her welfare, her desires until his last breath. His gaze s
Good day, wonderful readers, wherever you’re reading from. I decided to give a formal announcement. As I have stated in the little Author’s notes I’ve left in the previous chapter, there will be a bit of irregularity in my updating schedule from now on.I am a fresh graduate in my country and there is a mandatory 1-year service to my service for every graduate under the age of thirty.I started the process in January and on the 17th I received my call up later. I am currently at the three-week mandatory training camp and my schedule is a mess. I sleep late and wake at the wrong time. It has really disrupted my schedule. I can’t complain. I signed up for this, but it’s difficult and I’m adjusting. This message isn’t that I will stop updating altogether, it just means you will have to bear with me if the updates are short or I miss a few days. Thank you. Once I leave after 3 weeks, I will return to my normal schedule.
He pulled his thumb out of her mouth, and it made the pop sound. He seized her lips in his, pressing her against the table and rubbing his throbbing hard cock trapped in his trousers against her stomach. He pushed back the few papers on the desk and he set her on top of it. His hand cupped her love spot through the fabric of her nightgown to feel the evidence of her want for him between her legs. “You feel so good,” he grinned and kissed her, pushing his tongue into her mouth and making her moan around him. His legs parted hers, and he pushed the nightgown up to reveal her nakedness. Then he slid two fingers into her, making her breath cut in her throat while they kissed. He kept her stay and comfortable as his fingers played and fucked her. He suddenly pulled his hand and lips away from her as something else called to him. Her eyes snapped open, alarmed when he pulled away, but he drop to his knees before her. He spread her legs further and her smell made him jolt for joy. She
Xavier’s twisted around in bed after his lashes pulled apart, but didn’t find the one he went to bed with last night. He didn’t like the idea of waking up and not finding Mia in his arms on the bed coiled up against him. He was becoming a spoilt lover, and he didn’t want to change that. He pulled himself up to sit down in bed. He was naked and the memories of the previous night rushed back to him. Losing control and transforming into a part wolf and part human. He thought losing control might scare Mia or, worse, turn her off, but she wanted him still. His cheeks heat as he fought a smile. She had to be the best thing that ever happened to him, the best thing that’ll ever happen to him. He stares around the room in search of his lover, but he found no trace of her. “Mia?” he called out, getting out of bed and moving towards the bathroom, the only other place she might be. He knocked lightly on the door before pushing it open. “My love,” he called out, but no response came. He wid
It was the second week of the king’s trial. Last week was the first, and it went on the average rating. Out of the ten houses, Mia sent out letters requesting their witnessing, but only five responded with an acceptance. It was positive, and Mia tried to find two more witnesses to make up at least seven. On the first day of the trial last week, one of the five witnesses didn’t show up to the court. Lord Zander and his household had fled to the kingdom of Jade for fear of their lives, according to the news report she received. This brought the King’s witness list to four. They needed at least three more witnesses.Mia visited her father and requested that he testify for the alpha king, but Jobe told her he couldn’t. He turned her down but couldn’t tell her why he did. She felt disappointed, but held nothing against him. She hugged him and told him to take care of himself. As she tried to leave, Jobe took hold of her hand, his face filled with fear and concern. He told her to be careful.
