After the demise of their Alpha and Luna, the Elders of the Crescent Wolf pack had tried to train the Alpha's son, Jack to be their Alpha, finding a tiny building with a very poor budget somewhere in the forest where no one would question them.

The thing about being an old wolf is that one was brought up to be codependent and hardly survives without the help of other wolves, especially without the help of the Alpha. One gets used to having things done for them by the Alpha, having jobs created for them, nice environment to live in and what not, and when the Alpha is taken from the picture, poverty strikes.

The younger wolves have evolved to live like humans; independent regardless if they have an Alpha or not. Some even go to human universities and get degrees in human related jobs, blending in among humans and just living their lives.
