Neatly Cornered

Ella shakes her head as she stares steadily at her friend.

"You suck, Emily," Ella says to her, and when she looks sharply at her, she says, " I mean you suck at lying."

"I am not lying. Let's not be going back and forth over the same thing..."

"Last time, when I called you, you told me you sold the trailer park and moved in with your mother's sister. You told me you had even found a job and working or have you forgotten about all that?"

Oh no. She had totally forgotten. She is screwed. She made up that story the day she was feeling stressed after discovering her father's last plea to the Alpha had been to marry her.

And then she forgot about it, making up a completely different story today. How is she going to explain her way out of this? She has just been neatly Cornered. One of the things stress makes you do is to forget things you said or did, or where you place stuff, and it can be so annoying and frustrating.

She stares at Ella with a worried expression on her face.
