Emily feels restless the whole day, and nothing she does makes her feel better. The anxiety and worry is too much that she has lost hope of ever getting out of this. It is stress after stress, before she can fully recover from one stressful incident, another one follows close behind. This is all her life has been lately, and she wonders if she will ever get out of this, the consistency is appalling.

To distract herself, she goes to help plant a new variety of plants that has just been bought in the late afternoon. The man who works with her is cheerful and fun to chat with when you are feeling down.

He is a very tall man with a long face and kind brown eyes. Some people just look like they have a kind of super power to make most of life's problems roll over them without affecting them in the least, and the Gardener seems to be one of those people. Life must be hard, being poor all your life and ending up tending to flowers in your older age, Emily doesn't want to imagine herself in su
