Chapter 22 - Evelyn

After my moment of indiscretion with Cayden there was many loaded glances between us. I could not stop thinking of him. Or stop imagining his hands on my skin. It had felt amazing. Like it was meant to be. But he had been right. I should wait. Yet the teasing and flirting was fun. He continued to act normal with me when around others but on the odd occasion when it was just him and I in the office, his touch would linger just a few moments longer than it needed to… Or he would move himself a little closer than he should be… move his mouth close to my ear to whisper something to me instead of talking…

All the little things that made me desperately want him more. I had made excuses to stop over at the room they had provided me with on many occasions in the last week or so. Working late in my office, and then spending the evening in the company of Cayden and Jackson. It had become a frequent occurrence now. I was three weeks into my work here, and I preferred my time here over m
