My eyes flung open, I looked around the field, her scent wasn't lingering. She wasn't here anymore, my skin was itching from the sand. I don't even know how many hours I have laid here in the field. I sat up and looked around the field before memories of the fight came into my head. Then the cries of my mate when the wolfsbane hit her insides stung my heart. I turned and saw some of the pack members on the floor, dead and the sight of then made my heart weep. As alpha, the death of a pack member stung very much. Then I saw Reid by my side, resting against a car with his head buried on his thigh.
