Chapter 26

We followed Ava through the entrance and outside to where the cars had been parked.

I let Arabella behind me as I cautiously watched my sister from every angle. Ava was not to be trusted.

"Here we are" She finally stopped in front of something covered. I took a good look at it and then back at her.

"What is this?"

"A gift for you and your bride of course, what were you expecting?* She smiled wryly. "I made sure I came prepared. This is my gift to you, dear little brother"

I narrowed my eyes. She didn't see me as one, unfortunately.

Left to Ava, I'm sure she wanted me dead.

"Thank you" I managed to say. Arabella came up from behind me and thanked her too.

"We really appreciate your gift"

Ava nodded. We nodded too and we were about to leave when she called for our attention.

"Wait, aren't you guys going to open it too?"

I stopped. Arabella stopped too.

"Is it necessary? Why can't we do that when we can?"

"Well, I want to see the look on your face. Aren't you the littlest of curious t
