Chapter Forty Four

Brenda

I had to wait for about ten more minutes before Hunter arrived back in his office and I immediately smiled at him as soon as he walked in.

"Hi babe," I greeted him as warmly as I could so that he would realize that I wasn't here to pick a fight with him.

"Brenda, what are you doing here?" he asked with a surprised look on his face.

"Mason told me that you were having a meeting, so I decided to wait here until you arrived, and it's because I felt like the last few days have been rough for both of us, and I didn't like the fact that we kept arguing and arguing over the most unnecessary things," I said to him, watching the look on his face closely.

"Is everything okay with you, babe? You look very stressed out right now, and I don't like the look on your face," I pointed out, and he sighed.

He doesn't say anything and simply walks closer to me and hugs me tightly.

I put my hands around him and hugged him back, hoping that my hug was going to be comforting enough for him.
