Elena

I was over the moon when I found out that Mark rejected Laura.

“Why are you grinning like an idiot?” I asked him the second day after he got out of the infirmary. He was eating breakfast alone and had a huge grin on his face.

He shook his head “Nothing. Just a thing I remembered.”

“It must be very funny. So funny that I don’t see you upset over what happened with Laura. I heard what she said about you and that you rejected her. Good. You deserve better. And you are not a monster.”

“Thanks, Elena. Your words mean a lot to me.”

His eyes went to the cafeteria's entrance, and this huge smile appeared on his idiotic face. He stood up, pulled a chair, and waited. I was too curious about Mark's behavior and didn't look to see who was coming, but when the scents of exotic fruits reached me, I knew.
