Ares' pov

I woke up with a start, and immediately snapped my eyes shut as the bright light from the window flooded in and momentarily blinded me.

“Fuck,” I groaned and pressed a finger on my throbbing temple.

The sound of running water from a distance echoed loudly in my ears, making me groan.

Slowly, I opened my eyes again till they got used to the light, and a crease formed on my forehead a second later when my environment wasn't in any way familiar.

I massaged my temple, trying to remember how I got here but the splitting pain in my head limited my memory.
