My balled fists are the only outward sign of my jealousy when I watch Elena kiss Mason goodbye. He beams at her like she’s his reason for breathing, and yeah, I know the feeling.

Then he walks away with a spring in his step even though he knows what her staying with us means and I can’t fathom how he could leave her here without a fight. But I shake all that negativity away, refusing to give it more space in my head when we have the whole night to look forward to.
