I groan and roll on my back. “Ow!” I pull a stick out from under me. What the hell? I pause and take in my surroundings and squint my eyes from the harsh sunlight that dances through the canopy of the trees above me. Where am I? I think to myself and shriek when I hear someone clear their throat near me. “Sorry, baby girl. I didn’t mean to startle you.” My dad says with a sheepish grin on his face. He is sitting on a large rock near me with his pure white wings resting behind him. The tattoos of his right arm catch my eye and I follow them to his right pectoral muscles. I admire my handy work and decide it suits him. His eyes search mine with worry and his grin falls. “What happened to you?” He asks as I also ask, “How did you know where I was? I don’t even know where I am? His smile is soft, and he scoots over to me and reaches for my hand. “Ever since your angel side awakened and you started healing me, I have had the ability to track you because you are
I am going to do my best to get a second chapter posted today. Thank you for leaving your gems and comments. I love to hear from you and read each and every comment. Vivi xoxo
I hug my parents goodbye later that evening. Uncle Zane pulled some strings and Greg, and I were going to be staying temporarily with the Timberwolf pack up north. Greg will help train their warriors and I am to work with the kids in the orphanage. Dance therapy. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I will figure it out. This pack takes in the orphans from surrounding packs when their parents are killed in rogue attacks or other battles, meaning they have all experienced some kind of trauma. We will finish our online classes and then apply for college and if we are lucky, start college classes in January. My eyes linger on my mom’s mark. It’s beautiful and reminds me of the one I gave to Warrick except the angel is a male. I tilt my head to the side and look up in shock at my mom. “Rima, you’ve been flying, haven’t you.” It’s not a question. I know the distinct smell of the wind when one is high enough to reach the clouds. “Dad gifted you with wings wh
---Greg--- “Welcome to the Timberwolf Pack,” Alpha Jack says and grips my hand in a hearty handshake. His smile widening as he looks at Divina. “You must be Alpha Zane’s niece. He spoke so highly of you; I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I definitely wasn’t expecting someone so beautiful.” he says, and his eyes linger on her faded mark and then looks at me searching for mine. When he reaches for Divina’s hand and lifts it to his lips, I wrap my arm around her waist and let him know she is mine. He raises an eyebrow at me in question as his eyes fall back to her mark. “I was told that you wouldn’t need much in the way of lodging. Either a single room or small cottage out of the way but seeing as you are marked and Greg is not, I may need to rethink th
---Divina--- I hate getting up early. I groan when my alarm goes off at 4:15 in the morning and wonder if I should just get up or let myself snooze for another 10 minutes. Snoozing wins out and I settle back under the covers and chase those few extra minutes of sleep. Before I know it, my alarm is going off again and I’m ready to throw the damn thing across the room. Whose bright idea was it for me to go to the Warrior’s training session just to prove a point? Oh, yeah, that was me. I roll out of bed and pout all the way to the bathroom across the hall, where I throw my hair back in a high ponytail and splash some cool water on my face before brushing my teeth and heading back to my room to my closet to find some
---Alpha Jack--- When Alpha Zane called and asked if his niece and her protector could stay with us for a while, I was more than happy to bring them on when I was promised one of his best warriors would help train mine.I didn’t realize he was referring to a nineteen-year-old girl that was barely 120 pounds, but as I watch Divina dance gracefully around my warriors, toying with them, I am stunned. I look over at Greg where he is still sitting on the ground watching her intently. He must feel my gaze because his eyes meet mine and they are full of mirth. He is enjoying watching my men get their asses handed to them a little too much. I sigh and rake a hand through my hair and turn my gaze back to the sight before me. The three men I put her up against
---Divina--- When I walk into the doors of the orphanage, I am met with complete chaos. Children are crying and the three she-wolves who are trying to care for them are frazzled as hell. These poor she-wolves are outnumbered and have no clue what they are doing. There are babies crying and children squabbling. I still can’t think of them as pups. I lived too long outside of this culture for me to think of little ones as pups. I sigh. I have my work cut out for me and dance therapy is on the bottom of my priority list. First things first, I need to calm everyone, and I do just that. No one has noticed me yet, so I stand quietly out of the way and let my own feelings of tranquility grow and expand into a large bubble around me. As my bubble grows and reache
True to his word, Alpha Jack sent me twelve she-wolves from the pack to help with the orphanage and after some trial and error, six more she-wolves and two men were added.Three of the unmatedOmegas, now live at the orphanage so the little ones will have someone there 24/7. It’s been a long two weeks and I am still organizing and running things for the most part at the orphanage, but the three Omegas who now live at the orphanage are stepping upand working together to take over running it. Thank goodness for my experience working in a daycare center or this would have been a disaster. So far, we have had only a few kinks to work out and Alpha Jack has been generous with providing a good income to the caregivers that now work at the orphanage. We have plans to set up a pre-school to prepare the little ones for school and the children that are old enough, have started at the pack school.
---Divina--- “It’s been three fucking days! There has to be something you can do.” I hear Greg hiss quietly to someone. The worry that laces his words makes my stomach clench. I start to stir and open my eyes only to slam them back closed. My voice is hoarse when I mumble, “The lights are too bright. Hurts my eyes.” I hear a sharp intake of breath before the lights go dim and I feel warm hands cup my face before the bed dips down. I reach up and place my hand on Greg’s wrist and peak one eye open slowly to test whether or not the lights were going to sear my eyes again. “What happened?” I croak out.&nbs
---Divina--- “We have a problem,” Alpha Jack says. “What kind of a problem?” Greg asks and sits up straighter. He is on full alert now. His blue eyes flicking between myself and Alpha Jack. “My scouts have observed a large number of rogues gathering at our norther border and their behavior has been odd. They seem ganglier, more grotesque.” “Shit!” I murmur under my breath. This sounds like what Vanessa’s wolf looked like when she was possessed with a mid-level demon. The lower-level demons didn’t damage their hosts quite so much, but even werewolves can’t handle a demon possession for forever. “What is it?” he asks me. “How much do you know about me?” He shakes his head and says, “Not much. Other than you are a bad ass when it comes to fighting, can exorci
