Alpha Elijah’s POV

She looks at me with those big green eyes of hers, but there had been a change, it wasn’t the same way she normally looked at me. There was an essence of distrust.

“I don’t want to speak to you right now!” She rips her elbow away from my grip, folding her arms up across her chest.

“Aria, please, just listen to me. Maybe you will understand why I did what I did!”

“What did you do?” she asks quietly and I look around to see if we were alone. It wasn’t like the pack didn’t know about what I had done, but I still felt guilty any time I talked about my past.

“Walk with me?” I offer, hoping that she would agree, but knowing that there was every possibility that she would turn me down.

“Okay, I will listen.” she doesn’t slip her hand into mine like she usually does, she just walks next to me quickly, as she keeps up with my long strides.
