Chapter Twenty Eight

After a lot of parables from the priestesses, Alston finally got what he wanted to hear from them and he could say for one reason or the other, there were lies in what they said to him.

“She was married, and she went ahead to sleep with another man. The baby wasn’t her husband's and the other man had a demon in him, the baby got a hold of the evil powers and we wanted to kill the child but she escaped before they could even get to her.” One of them had replied to him.

But he chose not to believe because when he had asked them,

“Who was the man she slept with?” He questioned.

They all turned their heads and looked at each other, no one able to say any word again. But he didn’t want to scare them, nor let them know he knew something about it. He finally let them go and he could see the relief in their eyes as he did that.

“Wait.” He called back when they were almost at the door.

“I want all information about the priestess be brought to me. Down to her family.” He said before standing up
