An Unexpected Guest

It was a miracle that I fell asleep that night after Varick left. My body was sore yet I could sigh in relief that the heat finally left me when I woke up.

After relief, my brows furrowed, and I was seething with anger.

I turned to punch the bolster in frustration.

'I AM GOING TO MAKE THAT SEER PAY! I DON'T NEED ANY OFFENSIVE SPELLS TO PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE!'' I dropped and buried my face in the bolster and I screamed my frustration.

Who was I kidding? The damn Seer was the closest to the Moon Goddess. It would kill me instantly before I could lift a finger on him.

When I caught a whiff of Varick's scent on the bed, the memories left me confused, angry, and lost. It was an overwhelming feeling, and I was hoping my words could at least reach out to him.

But he showed mortification and the way his body shook meant it wasn't really my imagination when his hand trembled on my hand.
