Like a beast ready to prowl on the weak, the Alpha leader’s expression was unreadable, yet his presence before Kozart was monstrous as his claw-like hand reached for his neck.

Jumping from that distance, his stance in mid-air was perfectly bent, ready for a destructive blow. A surprise attack that no one couldn’t evade.

Yet, my body, which moved on its own, was already standing before him.

His expression changed briefly in surprise as I was now in front of his view, shielding the human bard with my trembling body.

I shut my eyes tight, expecting a painful blow that could kill me.

But instead, Lord Varick plunged and slammed his hand an inch next to me and directly to the cobblestoned ground.

My eyes widened, multiple sweats dropped profusely as I felt my blood drained at that instant.

Hadn’t he diverted his attack so meticulously, I would probably have my head detached by now.

“Rosaria! What were you thinking?!” Two hands held on my shoulder and I was forced to face a worri
