Our wedding preparations happened in a rush, with only a few hours to pull everything together in a quiet forest clearing. Wildflowers, hastily gathered, lined a makeshift aisle leading to an altar crafted from woven branches adorned with whatever blooms we could find. The night rushed upon us, urging us to finish the preparations before darkness settled in.

Roman and his group, wearing simple clothes, quickly helped. Damon, dressed up but showing signs of our lives as banished wolves, stood at the makeshift altar. I wore a dress with leaves and flowers, standing beside him under the stars.

Roman, the venerable leader of the camp who took us, assumed the role of officiant. His eyes bore into ours with a mix of solemnity and warmth.
