Slowly, Czar lowered the book he had been reading, the pages slipping from his fingers as he tried to process what he had been told. Though, his expression was blank, he couldn't comprehend the feeling he was having inwardly.

For a moment, he just looked at Mace, frozen.

"She stole?" He asked in a baritone.

"I do not know for sure, but that was what everyone said. Although, Masha kept insisting she was innocent, they never believed her."

Levelly, Czar drew back his chair and stood up, and when he began heading out, Mace needed no one to tell him he was headed for the healer's place.

Czar walked into the small stuffy room and was hit with the thick smell of herbs and ointments. Arabella was standing by the door, and she expressed relief when she saw Czar. However, Czar did not spare her a glance as he had his gaze on Masha.

His eyes rested on Masha, lying face-down on the bed, her bare back exposed to the world. He felt a lump rise in his throat as he saw the crisscrossing stripes
