Chapter 59 | Get Ready

The door to my room creaks open and I yawn as I stretch and look over as Magnolia slips into my room. She puts a sundress on my bed and asks, “Do you mind if I get ready with you?”

My eyebrows furrow but I nod as I say, “Yeah, that’s fine.”

I can feel the nervous energy rolling off of her in large waves. I try not to let it affect me. While she’s planning to wear a baby pink sundress, I find a pastel yellow one to wear that has little bumble bees sewn onto it. I set my dress beside hers and sit beside her in front of the mirror as I start to put on some make up.

Magnolia is quiet as she moves along, doing each step perfectly and looking utterly flawless, as always. I quietly ask her as I brush through my hair, “Are you okay, Mags?”

She huffs, but nods her head as she admits, “I’m fine, I’m just… I’m nervous to see my parents.”
