Chapter 27: Margarette
Erica's Point of View:
I couldn't comprehend what I was thinking to myself. Because of what I can see, I have the impression that my body is becoming increasingly hot. When I'm standing here, I feel like an invisible air while watching a horrible movie!
As I turned to look at Viktor and the woman he was with, Margarette, I felt someone tug at the hem of my gown. When I looked down at the person who was tugging me, I noticed a young lady looking up at me.
"Do you happen to be my mother?" the little girl inquired.
"No, baby, I am not your mother," I said, a smile on my face as I looked the baby girl in the eyes.
I noticed the girl's dejected expression. I sat down in front of her, stroked her hair, and said something.
"I can be your mother now, darling."
I noticed that her eyes were sparkling and that she was softly smiling.
"Come on over and let's have some fun," I encouraged her.
