My mind was a swirl of pleasure and lust. I automatically stood from my seat and Leo's hands found their way to my waist. He took a step closer, not breaking our contact, and pushed the cake out of the way before lifting me up onto the island. The sound of a tire screeching woke me the next morning. I opened my eyes, feeling as if I had only slept for a few minutes, and by the look of my disgruntled bedsheets, I knew why. Four days had passed since Erylis and Orene had left for the Azure Mountains. Leo had given them the journal with directions of how to get there and the three of them had discussed a plan on how to return the amulet safely. Everything looked like it was going to work out.
