Chapter 39: Warning Signs

My hands trembled as I typed in my father's name. I was assuming Leo's meeting was to decide how to warn the other packs, but I needed to tell my father everything that had been happening before it was too late. I listened to the dial tone ring through four times before it went to voicemail. I hung up and immediately redialed, hoping to get through on the second time, with very little success. I cursed as I tapped the red button again and typed him a text to call me, then shoved it into my pocket.

I leaned my head on the patio post and sighed, staring out at the driveway. The front door creaked open, and I spun around—half expecting for Gwenna or Erylis to be there—only to find Malissa. She smiled as she closed it behind her and sat down on the step beside me.
