I look around for Silas and see him standing just behind Cyrus, who is looking at me with a desperate look. I run to him and Silas wraps me in his arms, lifting me. My legs instinctively wrap around him and I lay my head on his shoulder. My anxiety and stress melt as he holds me tight in his embrace, but the fear is daunting.

“Si I’m scared,” I say quietly into his shoulder and I hear his humm begin, making my eyes droop instantly. He is trying to calm my body and I feel his compulsion wash over me and my fear is drowned out by it.

‘Little bird, you need to do this. No more running away. You will be fine. I promise I will be right by your side.’ His voice entered my mind and ran throughout my body, calming my buzzing blood.
