I woke up and felt a warm presence beside me. I opened my eyes and saw Kairo’s handsome sleeping face. I smiled to myself as I recalled yesterday’s events. I carefully reached out to the other side of the bed and felt relieved when I felt Arlo sleeping in the corner. I turned to the other side and gave him a kiss on the cheek. It feels like I’m with limited edition Ken dolls— with Kairo as the full-sized Ken doll and Arlo as his miniature version.
They must still be tired, so I let them sleep in. I quietly moved out of the bed and went to the kitchen to prepare our breakfast. I decided to cook some grilled cheese with tomato soup since I recalled Devyn saying to me that this was Kairo’s favorite. I smiled bitterly. I really wish that Devyn was here right now, but there’s nothing I can do except pray for his well-being.
