34. You Were Too Impatient

Lisa gasped and rushed to her daughter’s side. She held her protectively and looked at her husband disappointedly.

“How could you raise your hand on your only daughter?” Lisa asked him, her tone was slightly raised.

Aurora was holding the cheek he had slapped and was biting her lower lip so hard that it started hurting. She was trying so hard not to cry and the pain wasn’t the only thing she wanted to cry from. She felt humiliated and, for the first time in her life, she felt terrified of him.

He never showed this side of him to her.

Victor pointed his fingers aggressively at Aurora while looking at his wife.

“Do you have any idea what she has done?” he asked her angrily. “She’s the one who hired those thugs to kidnap Lillian!”

Lisa and Aurora both looked at him, shocked.

“B-but how?” Aurora stuttered.

Lisa looked at her, shocked.

“Wait, did you actually do it?” Lisa asked her, horrified.
