Chapter 12

They were going back to where Nyx and the others were after rescuing Louve. On the way back, Lillian could feel her mother constantly staring at her. It made her a bit uncomfortable, but she tried to understand her as well because this was the first time in years she looked at her daughter properly.

Louve gently placed a hand on her daughter’s hand, feeling overwhelmed. Lillian looked at her mother’s hand on hers and then looked at her mother. She saw that a tear escaped her eyes, so she whipped it away with her fingers and gave her a small smile.

“You’ve been through a lot. Thank you for staying strong… mom.” she told her.

Louve pursed her lips and tried hard not to cry, but she couldn’t stop the tears from forming in her eyes after hearing her daughter call her mom for the first time in her life.

“I’ve waited so long to hear you call me mom. I lost all hope that I would ever see or hear my daughter ever call me mom.” she told her with her voice cracking in the end.
