Only One Room Left

I looked at the time, and it was 8: PM and there was a heavy downpour. What am I going to do? The wedding is tomorrow, and they probably need the flowers to decorate the venue. Goodness! Why is Diane doing this to me?

She knew it was going to rain and it was late. Why did she bother sending me out there to get flowers she knew wouldn't be delivered on time? Surely, she was doing this just to get on my nerves. As if making me her bridesmaid wasn't bad enough.

“Uhm, miss? I don't know how long it will rain for, and I cannot be here all night. I have to get home since my kids are home alone.”

“I'm so sorry for taking your time,” I quickly apologized to the flower lady.”

“It's not your fault. If it hadn't rained so hard, I'm sure you would have been home by now. Let's blame it on the rain. But then, I'm not sure if you will be able to hold on for more hours because it will be difficult to get a cab to take you back.”
